AN ACT IQ amtnd Ih .. R .. \·tnut (Saf .. guurd) Act (CQP. 61).

BE IT ENACfE D by the President, by and with the advice and

consen t of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliamem

assembled. and by the authori ty of the same. as follows:-

I. This Act may be ci ted as the Revenue (Safeguard) Shon "'le:.

(Amendment) Act . 1989, a nd sha ll be read and co nst rued as one wit h

the Rev~nue (Safeguard) Act. hereinafter referred to as Mthe principal Cap. 61

Act",

Section 2 of the princiP'l1 Act shall be substituted by the

following:-

levied and collected by the Comptroller of CUSIOmS as from

the day on which a Proclamation has bee n issued to tile effect

Ihal notice as aforesaid has been given.

(2) For the purposes of this Act the term "duty"

mcans and includes Customs duty. any charge leviable on

goods on their importation into Malt a and EJlcise duties. ~ .

In subsection ( I ) of section 1 of the principal Act for the words ...,hon

1. "four months" there ~ hall be substituted the words "six mon ths".

Imm"diately after section 4 of the principal Act there sh all

be added Ihe following new section

Where in any bill as is referred to in 5ub!iection (I)

of seaion 2 of this Act a particular procedure is establ ished

fo r the collection of the duty, such duty shall. subject 10 the

other provisions of this Act. be collectcd in accordance with

the procedure established in such bi ll :'.
