BE [T ENACrED by the Preside nt , by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Par liame nt

assembled , and by the authority of th e same. as follows:-

This Act may be cit~d as the Transfer of Immovables 51>0" "de

( Regulat ion) ( Repea[) Act, [987.

executed otherwise than in compliance with the permission given by

the Commissioner of Land under the repealed Act . provided that this

does not refer 10 the price indicated in th e deed of transfer.

Not wit hsta ndin g the repeal of the Act aforesaid. section

.5 thereof .h~1I he deemed to rem ai n in force in rega rd to -

(a) any pre li mina ry agreement in respect of which

permission to transfer immovables has already been granted by the

Commissioner under the repealed Act; and

(b) any prelimi nary agreeme nt in respect of wh ich an

application for permissioo 10 transfe r immovables is Mill pending

on the date of the coming into force oft~is Act and for the purpose

onlyof the period orvalidity of an y soch preliminary agreeme nt the

Commissione r of Lands shall on such date promptly grant

permission as applied for and in te rms of each such preliminary

ogreement.

(3) Where in any preliminary agreement entered into on o r

before the datc of the comi ng into force of this Act the part ies thereto

stipulated a term for its validity which was 10 commence from the grant

of the permission under the repealed Act. for the purpose only of such

term the relative permission shall be deemed to have been granted

fifteen days afte r the coming into force of Ihi s Act.
