BE IT ENACI'ED by tbe President, by a nd with the advice and

consent of the HOUliC of ReJ7l'CSC'n tativcs. in this preseot ParlialIlCnt

assembled. and by the authority of the same. 15 follows:-

Th is Act ma y be cited 11 the National Tourism Organi5ltion

(Amendment) Act, 1986, a nd shall be read and construed as one with the

National Tourism Organisation Act, 1984, hereinafter referred to as

"the principal Act".

Immediately after paragraph (e) of section 4 or the principal Act

Tourism and in associa tion with intern.ational tourism organlsa·

tions.. trainillJ facilities for persons engaged or to be engaged in the

tourum industry.".

For sub!ections (\) and (2) of section 6 of the pri nci pal Act

there shall be substi tuted the following subsections

The Ex.ecutive Board of the Organisation shall consist

{WC members appointed by the Minister in consultation with the

Action Council for Tourism. two members appointed by the Minister

in consultation with the Air Malta Company and thm: members

nominated by the Minister

Pro~ided that if the Actio n Council for Tonrism is dissolved.

two members rep!'e$enting the Action Council ror Tourism, the

Minister may appoint two members from the pri~ate sec:tor of the

tourist trade in Malta.

ment. and shall be eligible for re.ppointmcnl on the eJlpiralion of

Subsection (I) at !IOClion 15 of the principll l Act shall be

amended as follo\\'s

(a) for the words "and one representative from each of," there

sha ll be substitu ted the words "the chief extt:utive of the Organisa-

tion. and one representative of. and Ilominulro by each of,"; and

(h) fo r the words " tb e Rent-A-Car Association and the Asso-

ciation of Travel Agents." there shall be substituted the words "the

Rent-A-Car Association. the Association of T ravel AgenlS and !be

Union of Government Licensed Tourist Guides.

Section 16 of the principal Act shall be amended as follows

(aj subse<:tions (3) and (4) thereof shaH be renumbered ~pec­

tively (4) and (S)

(b) for $Ub$ection (2) thereof !here sha ll be substituted the

following subs«tions,

"(2) The M inister may make regul ations for prescribing

the charge which shall be payable for late paymen t of any con·

tribution which charge sha ll not exceed four times the amount

of contribution due.

(3) Such contributioll!i and add itional charges slJall be

payable to Ihe Ol'J!anisation.": and

(c) in subsection (S) the word -public" $hall be deleted.
