ACT No. L of 1981

AN ACT further to amend the Civil Code, Cap.23.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assemb1ed, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

This Act may be cited as the Civi1 Code (Amendment) (No. 2)

Act, 1981 , and shall be read and construed as one with the Civi1 Code,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal law".

Subsection (1) of section 134 of the principal

1aw

shall be

amended as foUows

(a) for the words "in connection with the adoption; and" in

paragraph (a) thereof. there shall be substituted the words "in con­

nection with the adoption; or";

(b) for the words "of expressing his views." in paragraph (b)

thereof, there shall be substituted the words "of expressing his views;

or"; and

(c) immediate1y after paragraph (b) thereof

there shall be

added the following new paragraph

"(c) that in view of special and exceptional reasons and

taking into account the interests of all persons concerned. it is

proper for it to dispense with any such hearing and consent.".
