ACT No. XLVIII of 1981

AN ACT further to amend the Travel Agencies and Hotel Services Act,

1976. BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Par1iament

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

This Act may be cited as the Travel Agencies and Hote1

Services (Arnendrnent) Act, 1981, and shall be read and construed as

one with the Trave1 Agencies and Hotel Services Act, 1976, hereinafter

referred to as "the principal Act".

Section 2 of the princi pal Act shall be arnended as follows

(a) in the definition of "tra ve1 agent", irnrnediate1y after the

words "the tourist industry" there shall be inserted the words "and

shall inc1ude any person who in any way whatsoever organises

organised tours," and

(b)

imrnediately after the definition of "Minister" there shall

be added the following new definition

" "Organised tour" has the sarne meaning as is assigned

to it by section 2 of the N ational Museums and Monuments

(Comprehensive Admission Tickets) Act, 1981.".
