S.I. No. 13/2026 - Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 1) (Calculation of Means) Regulations 2026

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 1) (Calculation of Means) Regulations 2026.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 2007 to 2025 shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 2007 to 2026.

Calculation of means

2. Article 36 (amended by article 2 of the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No.2) (Calculation of Means) Regulations 2025 (

S.I. No. 277 of 2025

)) of the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 2007 (

S.I. No. 412 of 2007

) is amended by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (e)

“(ea) any payments made by the Inquiry into the Licensing and Use of Sodium Valproate in Women of Child-Bearing Potential in the State Act 2025,”.

The Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Services Reform and Digitalisation consents to the making of the foregoing Regulations.

These Regulations provide that any payments made under the Non-Statutory Inquiry into the licensing and use of Sodium Valproate in Women of Child-Bearing Potential in the State will be disregarded in the means test for supplementary welfare allowance payments.
