1. These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025.

Commencement

2. These Regulations come into operation on 10 March 2025.

Definitions

3. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Employment Permits Regulations 2024 (

S.I. No. 444 of 2024

).

Amendment of Schedule 3 to Principal Regulations

4. Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the entry at SOC-3 number 243 the following entry

Amendment of Schedule 5 to Principal Regulations

5. Schedule 5 (as amended by Regulation 6 of the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2024 (

S.I. No. 598 of 2024

)) to the Principal Regulations is amended, in the entry for “Care workers or home carer”—

(a) in Column 2, by substituting “1134” for “500”, and

(b) in Column 3, by substituting “10th March 2025” for “2nd September 2024”.

These Regulations are made under the

Employment Permits Act 2024

. They amend the Employment Permits Regulations 2024 by increasing the quota of General Employment Permits for employment as a care worker or home carer by 1000 permits and adding the occupation of town planning officer to the critical skills occupations list.

These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025.
