S.I. No. 43/2023 - National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Buy - Out Charge) Regulations 2023

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007 (Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Buy-out Charge) Regulations 2023.

(2) These Regulations come into operation on 9th February 2023.

2. For the purposes of section 44J of the

National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007

(No. 7 of 2007) the amount of the renewable transport fuel obligation buy-out price is 0.05 euro per megajoule.

3. The following are revoked

(a) Regulation 2 of the National Oil Reserves Agency Act (Biofuel Obligation Buy-out Charge) Regulations 2010 (

S.I. No. 644 of 2010

), and

(b) the National Oil Reserves Agency Act (Biofuel Obligation Buy-out Charge) Regulations 2022 (

S.I. No. 225 of 2022

).

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform consents to the making of the foregoing Regulations.

To come into effect on 9th February 2023, for the purposes of section 44J of the

National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007

(No. 7 of 2007) the amount of the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation buy-out price referred to in that section is €0.05 per megajoule; with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. Thereby replacing Regulation 2 of the National Oil Reserves Agency Act (Biofuel Obligation Buy-out Charge) Regulations 2022 (

S.I. No. 225 of 2022

) and the National Oil Reserves Agency Act (Biofuel Obligation Buy-out Charge) Regulations 2010 (

S.I. No. 644 of 2010

).
