S.I. No. 356/2023 - Technological Universities Act 2018 (Section 44F) (Appointed Day) Order 2023

1. This Order may be cited as the Technological Universities Act 2018 (Section 44F) (Appointed Day) Order 2023.

2. The 1st day of November 2023 is appointed to be the appointed day for the purpose of section 44F of the

Technological Universities Act 2018

(No. 3 of 2018) and this Order.

3. On the appointed day referred to in Article 2, the business and operation of the following applicant higher education provider -

(a) in the English language, St. Angela’s College, Sligo,

(b) in the Irish language, Coláiste San Aingeal, Sligeach,

shall become and form part of the following applicant technological university -

(i) in the English language, Atlantic Technological University,

(ii) in the Irish language, Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta an Atlantaigh.

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 44F (inserted by

section 97

of the

Higher Education Authority Act 2022

(No. 31 of 2022)) of the

Technological Universities Act 2018

(No. 3 of 2018) and the Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2020 (

S.I. No. 451 of 2020

), hereby make the following order with respect to which, pursuant to

section 3

of that Act, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House
