1. This Order may be cited as the Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. The 19

day of April 2022 is appointed as the day on which the

Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022

(No. 3 of 2022), other than section 4, shall come into operation.

This order provides for the commencement, from 19 April 2022, of the

Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022

, other than Section 4. This Act amends the

Redundancy Payments Act 1967

in order to provide a legislative basis for a “Covid-19 related lay-off payment”, to be paid from the Social Insurance Fund.
