S.I. No. 749/2021 - European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) (Amendment) Regulations 2021

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations

(i) “The 2017 Regulations” means the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2017 (

S.I. No. 605 of 2017

) as amended by the 2018 Regulations and the 2020 Regulations.

Amendment of 2017 Regulations

3. Article 28 (1) of the 2017 Regulations is replaced by the following

28 (1) The Minister shall, following consultation with the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and other interested parties in accordance with this Article, prepare and publish not later than 31 March 2022 and every four years thereafter, a programme of measures (hereafter in this Article referred to as “an action programme”) for the protection of waters against pollution from agriculture.

These Regulations amend the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2017. The purpose of the amendment is to extend the Regulations from the 31
