1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (End-of-Life Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.

2. The European Union (End-of-Life Vehicles) Regulations 2014 (

S.I. No 281 of 2014

) are amended by substituting the following definition

“‘the Directive’ means the European Parliament and Council Directive 2000/53/EC of 18 September 2000 on end-of-life vehicles as amended by Commission Decision 2002/525/EC

These Regulations amend the European Union (End-of-Life Vehicles) Regulations 2014 in order to give effect to the provisions of the following Commission Delegated Directives

a) Commission Delegated Directive 2020/362/EU of 17 December 2019 amending Annex II to Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on end-of-life vehicles as regards the exemption for hexavalent chromium as anti-corrosion agent of the carbon steel cooling system in absorption refrigerators in motor caravans;

b) Commission Delegated Directive 2020/363/EU of 17 December 2019 amending Annex II to Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on end-of-life vehicles as regards certain exemptions for lead and lead compounds in components.
