1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.

2. The European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations 2003 (

S.I. No. 280 of 2003

) are amended by substituting in Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “EC Directive” (as amended by the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 (

S.I. No. 678 of 2016

)) the following

“‘Directive’ means Council Directive 2002/57/EC of 13 June 2002

These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2020/177 by amending the Annexes I and II to Directive 2002/57/EC as they relate to inspections for Union regulated non-quarantine pests (RNQPs) and measures intended to prevent their presence on seeds of oil and fibre plants for planting.
