S.I. No. 199/2020 - European Communities (Marketing of Fruit Plant Propagating Material) (Amendment) Regulations 2020

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Marketing of Fruit Plant Propagating Material) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.

2. The European Communities (Marketing of Fruit Plant Propagating Material) Regulations 2011 (

S.I. No. 384 of 2011

) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition of “Directive” (as amended by European Communities (Marketing of Fruit Plant Propagating Material) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 29 of 2020), the following –

“‘Directive’ means Council Directive 2008/90/EC of 29 September 2008

3. The European Communities (Marketing of Fruit Plant Propagating Material (Amendment) Regulations 2020 (

S.I. No. 29 of 2020

) are revoked.

These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2020/177 by amending Council Directive 2008/90/EC as it relates to inspections for Union regulated non-quarantine pests (RNQPs) and measures intended to prevent their presence on fruit plant propagating material and fruit plants intended for planting.
