1. This Order may be cited as Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) (Amendment) Act 2019 (Commencement) Order 2020.

2. The 17

th

day of January 2020 is appointed as the day on which the

Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) (Amendment) Act 2019

(No. 42 of 2019) shall come into operation.

This Act amends the Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) (No.2) Act 1978 and the

Valuation Act 2001

in order to clarify the rights of ground rent tenants to acquire acquiring the freehold title of their properties.
