S.I. No. 24/2019 - Local Government Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2019

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2019.

2. The 31st day of January 2019 is appointed to be the day on which the following provisions of the

Local Government Act 2001

(No. 37 of 2001) shall come into operation

(a) subsection (1) of section 5 and Part 1 of Schedule 3 in so far as they effect the repeal of—

(i)

sections 76

,

77

,

78

and

79

of the

Local Government Act 1946

(No. 24 of 1946),

(ii)

section 53

of the

Local Government Act 1955

(No. 9 of 1955), and

(iii)

section 67

of the

Local Government Act 1994

(No. 8 of 1994); and

(b) sections 189, 190, 192 and 193, and subsections (1) and (2) of section 194.
