1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Seed Potatoes) (Amendment) Regulations 2019.
2. The European Union (Seed Potatoes) Regulations 2016 (
S.I. No. 641 of 2015
) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition of “Directive” the following
“‘Directive’ means Council Directive 2002/56/EC of 13 June 2002

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/119 extends until 31 March 2024 the period in which Member States may determine the equivalence of seed potatoes harvested in third countries with seed potatoes harvested within the Union.
