S.I. No. 479/2018 - Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (Section 95(3)) (Variation of Title: Physical Therapist) Regulations 2018

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (Section 95(3)) (Variation of title: Physical Therapist) Regulations 2018.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 21 December 2018.

2. For the purposes of section 95(3)(

a

) (amended by

section 37

of the

Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014

(No. 33 of 2014)) of the

Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005

(No. 27 of 2005), the title of physical therapist is prescribed as a variant of the title of physiotherapist specified in section 4(1)(

f

) of that Act and may, in addition to the title of physiotherapist, be used by registrants of that profession.

These regulations will protect the title of Physical Therapist as a variant of the title of Physiotherapist for the exclusive use of professionals registered with the Physiotherapists Registration Board.

)), after consulting the Physiotherapists Registration Board and any organisations that I consider appropriate, hereby make the following regulations with respect to which, pursuant to section 95(7) of that Act, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House
