S.I. No. 461/2017 - Oireachtas (Termination Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations 2017

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Termination Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations 2017.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 15 September 2017.

3. Regulation 4(

b

)(ii) of the Oireachtas (Termination Allowance) Regulations 1992 (

S.I. No. 356 of 1992

) is amended by inserting “or the Single Public Service Pension Scheme” before “applies”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations provide for the inclusion of outgoing Members of the Oireachtas who are members of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme in the scheme of severance payments for outgoing Members of the Oireachtas introduced in 1992, on foot of a recommendation in Report 35 of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector.
