1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

2. The European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations 2003 (

S.I. No. 280 of 2003

) are amended by substituting in—

(

a

) Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “EC Directive” (as amended by the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 (

S.I. No. 917 of 2005

)) the following

“‘Directive’ means Council Directive 2002/57/EC of 13 June 2002

) Regulation 6(1) (as amended by the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2005) “Directive” for “EC Directive”, and

(

) Regulation 21 (inserted by the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2005) “Directive” for “EC Directive” in each place that it occurs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend Council Directive 2002/57/EC on the marketing of seed of oil and fibre plants by adjusting the minimum varietal purity of the seed.

These Regulations also amend Annexes IV and V to Council Directive 2002/57/EC on the marketing of seed of oil plants and fibre plants.
