S.I. No. 644/2016 - European Communities (Safety of Toys) (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Safety of Toys) (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

2. Regulation 48 of the European Communities (Safety of Toys) Regulations 2011 (

S.I. No. 14 of 2011

), is amended by substituting for paragraph (9) the following paragraph—

“(9) A person who contravenes Regulation 35 commits an offence”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations rectify a mistake in a cross-reference in Regulation 48(9) of S.I. 14 of 2011 which transposed Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 relating to toy safety. Regulation 48(9) had mistakenly referred to Regulation 36 instead of Regulation 35.
