S.I. No. 561/2016 - Prohibition on Tail Docking (Dogs) Regulations 2014 (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Prohibition on Tail Docking (Dogs) Regulations 2014 (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

2. The Prohibition on Tail Docking (Dogs) Regulations 2014 are amended—

(

a

) in Regulation 4 (1) by the deletion of “or a veterinary nurse (within the meaning of the

Veterinary Practice Act 2005

)”, and

(

b

) by the deletion, in each place where it occurs, of “or veterinary nurse”.

The effect of these Regulations is to require that tail docking of dogs for therapeutic purposes be carried out by a veterinary practitioner.
