1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2015.

2. The Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2013 (

S.I. No. 197 of 2013

) are amended by substituting in Regulation 2(1) the definition of “Technical Measures Regulation” for the following-

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations, amend the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2013 (

S.I. No. 197 of 2013

) which relate to technical conditions for all fishing operations (e.g. permitted nets, species composition of catches, etc.) to include Regulation (EU) 2015/812 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2015 as regards the landing obligation. These regulations make a contravention of any provisions of European legislation implementing technical measures, an offence under the

Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006
