1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control (Prescribed Qualifications) Regulations 2014.

2. The qualification specified in the Schedule to these Regulations is prescribed for the purposes of

section 14

(2)(

a

)(iii) of the

Building Control Act 2007

(No. 21 of 2007).

SCHEDULE

PRESCRIBED QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualification is prescribed pursuant to article 14(2)(

a

)(iii) of the

Building Control Act 2007

(i) Master of Architecture Degree awarded jointly by University College Cork and the Cork Institute of Technology through the Cork Centre for Architectural Education.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 14

of the

Building Control Act 2007

provides that the Minister may prescribe additional qualifications and educational bodies to those recognised in the Act as being suitable for the purpose of the registration of certain persons in the register of Architects established under Part 3 of the

Building Control Act 2007

.

The Master of Architecture Degree awarded jointly by University College Cork and the Cork Institute of Technology through the Cork Centre for Architectural Education, as referred to in the Schedule, is newly prescribed under these Regulations.
