1. This Order may be cited as the Charities Act 2009 (Commencement) Order 2014.
2. The 16th day of October 2014 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the
Charities Act 2009
(No. 6 of 2009) shall come into operation
(
a
) section 3;
(
b
) sections 6 to 9;
(
c
) section 10 (insofar as it has not already been commenced);
(
d
) section 11;
(
e
) Part 2;
(
f
) Part 3;
(
g
) Part 5;
(
h
) Part 6;
(
i
) Schedule 1;
(
j
) Schedule 2.

This Order appoints the 16th of October 2014 as the date on which the provisions of
section 3
,
sections 6 to 9
,
section 10
(subsections (3) and (4)),
section 11
, Part 2, Part 3, Part 5, Part 6, Schedule 1, and Schedule 2 of the
Charities Act 2009
come into operation.
This Order provides for the establishment of the Charities Regulatory Authority for the regulation of Charitable Organisations. It also provides for the establishment of the Charity Appeals Tribunal and the Dissolution of the Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests for Ireland.
