1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities Act, 1972 (Environmental Specifications for Petrol, Diesel Fuels and Gas Oils for use by non-road mobile machinery, including inland waterway vessels, agricultural and forestry tractors, and recreational craft) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.

Amendments

2. (1) The

European Communities Act, 1972

(Environmental Specifications for Petrol, Diesel Fuels and Gas Oils for use by non-road mobile machinery, including inland waterway vessels, agricultural and forestry tractors, and recreational craft) Regulations 2011 are amended—

) In Regulation 3(1) by substituting for the definition of “Annex I to Directive 98/70/EC

These Regulations transpose Commission Directive 2011/63/EU

of 1 June 2011 amending, for the purpose of its adaptation to technical progress, Directive 98/70/EC

of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the quality of petrol and diesel fuels.

These Regulations amend the European Communities Act, 1972 (Environmental Specifications for Petrol, Diesel Fuels and Gas Oils for use by non-road mobile machinery, including inland waterway vessels, agricultural and forestry tractors, and recreational craft) Regulations 2011. The amendments include updating standards EN 228 and EN 590 with regard to the testing of petrol and diesel.
