S.I. No. 569/2009 - European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009.

2. Regulation 12 of the European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (No. 2) Regulations 2008 (

S.I. No. 359 of 2008

) as amended by substituting for paragraph (3A) (inserted by the European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 (

S.I. No. 348 of 2009

)) the following

“(3A) In the case of the holder of a driving licence or a recognised driving licence to drive a vehicle of category D1, D1+E, D or D+E, the first 7 hour tranche of retraining referred to in paragraph (3) must be completed by 31 January 2010, the second tranche must be completed by 10 September 2010 and each subsequent tranche must be completed by 10 September in each following year.”.

)) to allow bus drivers holding a certificate of professional competence until 31 January 2010 to complete the first 7 hours of training required.
