1. This Order may be cited as the

Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2008

(Section 22) (Commencement) Order 2009.

2. The 6th day of May 2009 is appointed as the day on which

section 22

of the

Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2008

(No. 22 of 2008) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the commencement of

Section 22

of the

Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2008

.

Section 22

provides for the deduction of any contributions payable under the tax known as “income levy” in calculating weekly family income for the purposes of Family Income Supplement.
