S.I. No. 580/2008 - Infectious Diseases Maintenance Allowance (Increased Payment) Regulations, 2008

1. These regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases Maintenance Allowance (Increased Payment) Regulations, 2008.

Rate of Payment

2. Where a person is or becomes entitled to payment under sub-section (3) of

Section 44

of the

Health Act, 1947

in accordance with the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 2008 (

S.I. No. 836 of 2007

), any amount so payable, in respect of the week commencing 1st December, 2008 to or in respect of the person or his/her dependants shall be increased by a sum equal to 100 per cent of that amount or €30.00 whichever is the greater.

The effect of these Regulations is to increase, in respect of the week commencing 1st December, 2008, the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under

Section 44

of the

Health Act 1947

by a sum equal to one hundred per cent of that amount or €30.00, whichever is the greater.
