1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2008.
2. These Regulations, the Principal Regulations and the Regulations of 2003 & 2007 shall be construed as one and cited together as the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) Regulations, 1997 to 2008.
3. In these Regulations, — the “Principal Regulations” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) Regulations, 1997 (
S.I. No. 499 of 1997
) — the “Regulations of 2003” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003 (
S.I. No. 28 of 2003
) — the “Regulations of 2007” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 (
S.I. No. 708 of 2007
).
4. Article 5(3) of the Principal Regulations, as amended by Article 5 of the Regulations of 2003, is hereby amended by substituting the following for subarticle 5(3)(
a

“5(3)(
a
) one, who shall be a member of a library authority, on the nomination of the Association of County and City Councils.”

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government by
