S.I. No. 128/2008 - European Communities (Quantitative Analysis of Binary Textile Fibre Mixtures) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Quantitative Analysis of Binary Textile Fibre Mixtures) (Amendment) Regulations 2008.

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the European Communities (Quantitative Analysis of Binary Textile Fibre Mixtures) Regulations 2007 (

S.I. No. 9 of 2007

).

3. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting “, and Commission Directive 2007/4/EC of 2 February 2007

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be legal interpretation).

This Statutory Instrument transposes Directive 2007/4/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 February 2007 and is a companion to Directive 2007/3/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 February 2008. Directive 2007/3/EC covers the names and definitions of various textile products whereas Directive 2007/4/EC covers the methods for testing these textiles. Commission Directive 2007/4/EC amends Directive 96/73/EC by adding the analytical method for testing the textile called “elastolefin”.
