(Commencement) Order 2007.

2. The day appointed as the day on which the

Local Government (Roads Functions) Act 2007

(No. 38 of 2007) comes into operation is 1 January 2008.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This Order provides for the commencement of the

Local Government (Roads Functions) Act 2007

on 1 January 2008. The Act provides for technical amendment of certain legislative provisions to facilitate the transfer of functions relating to Non-National Roads and the National Vehicle Driver File to the Minister for Transport from the Minster for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
