S.I. No. 668/2007 - European Communities (Control of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2007

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Control of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2007.

2. The European Communities (Control of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products) Regulations 2004 (

S.I. No. 894 of 2004

) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition of ‘Council Directive’ (inserted by the European Communities (Control of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 (

S.I. No. 277 of 2006

)), the following—

These Regulations transpose the measures to be taken against the dissemination of

Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

(Steiner et Buhrer) Nickle

et al

and Potato spindle tuber viroid. They also extend the duration of temporary derogations from certain provisions of Council Directive 2000/29/EC in respect of plants of strawberry (

Fragaria

L.), intended for planting, other than seeds, originating in Argentina.
