EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

This Order provides for the commencement of sections 1 (

a

), 3, 4 and 5 of the

Hepatitis C Compensation Tribunal (Amendment) Act 2006

on the 12th of September, 2007. This provides for the commencement of an insurance scheme for persons diagnosed positive for Hepatitis C or HIV through the administration within the State of infected blood or blood products.
