1. This Order may be cited as the

National Cultural Institutions Act 1997

(Delegation of Functions) Order 2006.

2. The functions conferred on the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism by

section 50

of the

National Cultural Institutions Act 1997

(No. 11 of 1997) in relation to archaeological objects (being a class of museum heritage object) are delegated to the Board of the National Museum of Ireland.

This order delegates to the Board of the National Museum of Ireland the functions set out in

Section 50

of the

National Cultural Institutions Act 1997

(No. 11 of 1997) regarding the issue of export licences in relation to archaeological objects (being a class of museum heritage object).
