1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Passenger Car Entry into Service (Amendment) Regulations 2005.

2. The European Communities (Passenger Car Entry into Service) Regulations 2003 (

S.I. No. 552 of 2003

) are amended by substituting for Schedule 2 (inserted by the European Communities (Passenger Car Entry into Service) (Amendment)(No.2) Regulations 2004 (

S.I. No. 866 of 2004

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

The European Communities (Passenger Car Entry into Service) Regulations 2003 (

S.I. No. 552 of 2003

implemented in Ireland entry into service provisions of a number of European Community Directives which deal with the type approval/entry into service of motor vehicles. The relevant EC Directives are listed in the Schedule to those Regulations.

Subsequent Regulations have been made amending

S.I. No. 552 of 2003

, the latest being

S.I. No. 866 of 2004

by substituting a new schedule to take account of further directives subsequently adopted.

These Regulations now amend the schedule to give effect in Irish law to Commission Directive 2004/104/EC of 14 October 2004.
