S.I. No. 178/2005 - Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) (Amendment) Regulations 2005

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) (Amendment) Regulations 2005.

2. Regulation 6 (inserted by the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 (

S.I. No. 469 of 2004

)) of the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations 1994 (

S.I. No. 353 of 1994

) is amended -

(a) in paragraph (1) (a), by substituting “the Minister for Finance shall appoint 5 medical practitioners and may appoint a further 5 medical practitioners” for “the Minister for Finance shall appoint 5 medical practitioners”, and

(b) in paragraph (1) (b), by substituting “One of the appointed medical practitioners” for “One of the 5 appointed medical practitioners”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations allow the Minister for Finance to appoint an additional five medical practitioners to the Medical Board of Appeal for the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Scheme.

This means that the Minister for Finance may now appoint up to ten medical practitioners to the Board
