S.I. No. 637/2003 - European Communities (Passenger Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Passenger Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2003.

2. The European Communities (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2002 are amended as follows

(1) in Regulation 2.(1) in the definition of

“Council Directive”

by adding “as amended by Directive 2002/84/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 November 2002” after “..... of 5 March 2002.

(2) in Regulation 11(1) by substituting “€3,000” for “£1904.61”.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2002 in order to improve and accelerate the implementation of Community legislation on maritime safety, the prevention of pollution from ships and shipboard living and working conditions.
