S.I. No. 402/2003 - European Communities (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations 2003.

2. Regulation 17 of the European Communities (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2000 (

S.I. No. 476 of 2000

) is amended by substituting the following for paragraph (2)(e) -

“(e) the public.”.

These Regulations amend Regulation 17(2)(e) of the European Communities (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2000 (

S.I. No. 476 of 2000

).

The Regulations are intended to ensure that the public is consulted on external emergency plans as provided for in Article 11.3 of Council Directive 96/82/EC of 9th December, 1996 on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances.
