S.I. No. 233/2003 - Environment and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2003

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Environment and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 2003.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 10 June 2003.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Comhshaoil agus Rialtais áitiúil and, in the English language the Department of the Environment and Local Government, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Comhshaoil, Oidhreachta agus Rialtais áitiúil and in the English language, to that of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Comhshaoil agus Rialtais áitiúil and, in the English language, the Minister for the Environment and Local Government, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Comhshaoil, Oidhreachta agus Rialtais áitiúil and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment -

(

a

) references to the Department of the Environment and Local Government shall be construed as references to the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government;

(

b

) references to the Minister for the Environment and Local Government shall be construed as references to the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
