1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations 2002.

2. In these Regulations “the Principal Regulations” means the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1979 (

S.I. No. 137 of 1979

).

3. The Schedule to these Regulations is hereby substituted for Schedule I (inserted by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) (No. 2 Regulations, 2000 (

S.I. No. 286 of 2000

)) to the Principal Regulations.

These Regulations implement the provisions of Commission Directive 2001/3/EC which relates to the type approval of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors and to the suppression of radio interference produced by spark-ignition engines fitted to wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors.
