S.I. No. 65/2001 - European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001.

2. Regulation 2(2) of the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) Regulations, 1995 (

S.I. No. 96 of 1995

), is amended by the substitution for the definition of “the 1968 Directive” of the following definition

“ ‘the 1968 Directive’ means Council Directive 68/414/EEC of 20 December 1968

Explanatory Note

These Regulations give effect to Council Directive 98/93/EC which amended Council Directive 68/414/EEC on compulsory oil stockholding in the EU internal market. These Regulations expand the definition of “the 1968 Directive” in the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) Regulations, 1995 (

S.I. No. 96 of 1995

) to include a reference to Directive 98/93/EC.
