Statutory Text (8 Articles)
1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Beef Assurance Scheme Act, 2000 (Census) Regulations, 2000.
2. These Regulations shall come into force on the 29th day of December, 2000.
3. In these Regulations-
“the Act” means the
National Beef Assurance Scheme Act, 2000
(No. 2 of 2000);
“animal” means a bovine animal;
“CMMS” means the computerised cattle movement monitoring system;
“Herd Reconciliation forms” means the forms specified in the Schedule to these Regulations;
“location” means all animals in the herd whether on the holding or housed in feedlots owned by another keeper;
4. A census of animals shall be conducted for the purpose of confirming the identification and location of animals on 31 December, 2000.
5. The Regulations shall be applicable to all keepers who maintain a herd of animals on their holding or who are recorded on CMMS as having animals on their holding.
6. The information required for the purpose of the Census is set out in the Herd Reconciliation forms.
7. Keepers are required to complete and return the Herd Reconciliation forms within seven days of receipt in accordance with the procedures indicated on the forms.

The purpose of the Regulations is to enable a census of bovine animals to be taken on 31 December, 2000, to define the scope of the census and the persons who are required to complete herd reconciliation forms for the purpose of the census.

If you had animals in your hard on 31 December 2000 please list all of the Tag Numbers in the BOXES below. You have a statutory obligation under The
National Beef Assurance Scheme Act 2000
(No. 2 of 2000) to complete and return the enclosed form within 7 days of receipt.
Animals in your herd and not recorded on this Form will be removed from the Department's computer system making them ineligible for any future premia payments.
