1. This Order may be cited as the National Breast Screening (Establishment) Order, 1998 (Amendment) Order, 1999.

2. The National Breast Screening Board (Establishment) Order, 1998 (

S.I. No. 319 of 1998

) is hereby amended

(

a

) by the substitution for Article 6(1) of the following paragraph

The members of the Board shall be appointed by the Minister and shall consist of the Chief Executive Officers of the health boards and not more than four other persons nominated by those Officers at least two of whom shall be drawn from the disciplines involved in the early diagnosis, primary treatment and evaluation of breast cancer in women.

b

) by the substitution for Article 7(3) of the following paragraph

A casual vacancy occuring among the members of the Board shall be filled by the Minister and, if the casual vacancy is occasioned by a person who is not a Chief Executive Officer of a health board, it shall be filled on the nomination of the Chief Executive Officers of the health boards in accordance with the provisions of Article 6(1) of this Order.
