1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) (Amendment) Regulations, 1999.

(2) The European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) Regulations, 1994 to 1997 and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) Regulations, 1994 to 1999 and shall be construed together as one.

2. In these Regulations:—

“the Principal Regulations” means the European Communities (Authorisation, Placing on the Market, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products) Regulations, 1994 (

).

3. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution in paragraph (I) for the definition of “Annex 1” of the following definition

“

“Annex 1” means Annex 1 to the Directive of 1991 as altered by Commission Directive 98/47/EC of 25 June 1998.”.

These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 98/47/EC of 25 June 1998 which provides for the inclusion of the active substance Azoxystrobin, in Annex 1 to Council Directive 91/414/EEC.
