SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1995 (SECTION 15) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs in exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister by

section 15

(5) of the

Social Welfare Act, 1995

(No. 3 of 1995), hereby orders as follows

This Order may be cited as the

Social Welfare Act, 1995

(Section 15) (Commencement: Order, 1997.

2 Commencement

The 26th day of November, 1997, is hereby appointed as the day on which

section 15

of the

Social Welfare Act, 1995

(No. 3 of 1995), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides that

section 15

of the

Social Welfare Act, 1995

will come into effect on the 26th day of November, 1997.

Section 15 provides for regulatory powers under which a person may qualify for payment of reduced rates of Qualified Adult Allowance where the spouse's weekly income is in excess of £60 but does not exceed £90.
