1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Air Traffic Management Equipment and Systems) (Standards) (Amendment) Regulations, 1997.
2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Air Traffic Management Equipment and Systems) (Standards) Regulations, 1996 (
S.I. No. 221 of 1996
).
3. Regulation 2(1) of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution for the definition of "the Directive" of the following definition: '"the Directive' means Council Directive No. 93/6S/EEC of 19 July 1993

4. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the insertion after Regulation 4 of the following Regulation
"5. The mandatory elements of Euro-control specifications included in the following Euro-control standards documents shall be complied with in as much as they are necessary for the implementation of an integrated European air traffic management system -
(
a
) the Euro-control standard for online data interchange (OLDI), first edition, (Euro-control document reference 001—92), and
(
b
) the Eurocontrol standard for air traffic services data exchange presentation (ADEXP) (Eurocontrol document reference 002—93)."
