S.I. No. 177/1997 - Metrology Act, 1996 (Commencement and Establishment Day) Order, 1997

1. This Order may be cited as the

Metrology Act, 1996

(Commencement and Establishment Day) Order, 1997.

2. The 12th day of May, 1997, is hereby appointed as the day—

(

a

) on which the

Metrology Act, 1996

(No. 27 of 1996), shall come into operation, and

(

b

) to be the establishment day for the purpose of Part II of that Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that the

Metrology Act, 1996

, will come into force and that the Legal Metrology Service be established on 12th May, 1997.
