S.I. No. 60/1996 - European Communities (Definition, Description and Presentation of Spirit Drinks) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Definition, Description and Presentation of Spirit Drinks) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996.

2. The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Definition, Description and Presentation of Spirit Drinks) Regulations, 1995 and 1996, and shall be construed together as one.

3. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Definition, Description and Presentation of Spirit Drinks) Regulations, 1995 (

S.I. No. 300 of 1995

).

4. The definition of "Council Regulation" in Regulation 2 (1) of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion after "1990" of the words "and Commission Regulation No. 1267/94/EC of 1 June 1994".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for the protection of the names used to describe certain spirit drinks produced in the United States of America.
