S.I. No. 292/1996 - The Western Health Board (District Mental Hospitals), Amendment Order 1996.

1. This Order may be cited as the Western Health Board (District Mental Hospitals) Amendment Order, 1996.

2. (1) The district mental hospital to serve the area comprising the dispensary districts specified in Part One of the Schedule to this Order shall be the Acute Psychiatric Unit, Roscommon General Hospital.

(2) The district mental hospital to serve the area comprising the dispensary districts specified in Part Two of the Schedule to this Order shall be the hospital at Ballinasloe known as Saint Brigid's Hospital.

3. The Western Health Board (District Mental Hospital) Order, 1975, S.I. No.53 of 1975 is hereby revoked.

Part One.

Dispensary districts comprising the area to be served by the Acute Psychiatric Unit, Roscommon General Hospital:—

Athlone No.2, Athleague, Aughrim, Boyle, Ballaghadereen, Ballinameen, Ballinlough, Ballyleague, Brideswell, Castlerea, Elphin, Frenchpark, Keadew, Kiltoom, Loughglinn, Roosky, Strokestown, Roscommon, Williamstown.

Part Two.

Dispensary districts comprising the area to be served by the district mental hospital at Ballinalsoe:—

Abbey, Ahascragh, Ardahan, Aran Islands, Athenry, Ballinalsoe, Ballygar, Bullaun, Carna, Clifen, Cloonbur No. 1 and Cloonbur No. 2, Dunmore, Eyrecourt, Galway No.1, Galway No. 2, Glenamaddy, Gort, Headford, Inishbofin, Kilconnell, Kiltormer, Kinvara, Laurencetown, Lettermore No.1, Lettermore No. 2, Loughrea, Mount Bellew, Moycullen, Oranmore, Oughterard, Portumna, Rinvyle, Roundstone, Spiddle, Tuam No.1, Tuam No. 2, Turloughmore, Woodford, Athlone No. 2, Brideswell, Creagh, Kiltoom.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of the Order is to designate the Acute Psychiatric Unit, Roscommon General Hospital to service those areas previously served by Saint Patrick's Hospital, Castlerea and to effect minor changes in the areas serviced by the Acute Psychiatric Unit, Roscommon General Hospital.
